The Awaxaawe Awachia Lodge will be hosting the 2007 Painted Shield Seminar on August 15th – 18th at Camp Fife. This will not be the same seminar held in 2005. With a new theme the content of the event will change. The focus will still be all things Native American relating to the Order of the Arrow but they will take on a new face. We will cover more information about the tribes of our area, styles of beadwork, and the inspiration we all use to drive our Native American related activities in the OA. We will also be adding another aspect this year. Along with Ceremony and Dance, Primitive Camping (tipis and life in them) will become part of Painted Shield. Painted Shield gives national quality training with a local feel and atmosphere. One of the great things about this seminar, aside from the training, is the fellowship and sense of brotherhood developed over this weekend. We hope to see you there.
