My Brothers,

I have just returned from Indiana for the 2007 NCLS (National Conservation and Leadership Seminar).There I, along with 4 others from our lodge, learned about the Order of the Arrow’s strategic plan for 2008-2012.

The plan is based on four points: To serve and support scouting, To develop leaders of character, To promote outdoor adventure, and To be an active and honored brotherhood.

In our chapters and our lodge we are already doing a lot to hold to these 4 points but we have been challenged to start new programs to take it to the next level. With how dedicated the people of our lodge are this will be a simple task, and our LLD next year will be based around these points.

Well it’s August the year is almost over but we still have lots of fun and work ahead of us. Next weekend we will be holding our second painted shield this will be an information filled seminar to improve both our ceremonies and Pow-wows.

Don’t forget we still have one fellowship left so finish up your unit elections and get everyone together who needs to obtain brotherhood this year. This last fellowship promises to be one of the best this lodge has ever seen so I expect to see a lot of candidates.
